TRUTH

This is not to deny the first truth but if we are to evolve and progress we must accept that all our beliefs (truths that we hold dear to us) are subject to questioning. It is when we do not allow a questioning of our beliefs that we allow those beliefs to stagnate and we don't learn further or evolve.

Spirituality asks us to challenge all our beliefs right down to our most fundamental beliefs, asking for these to be open to change. It is only when we cling onto beliefs for fear of losing them that we deny progress.

A famous example is that of the Earth being "known" to be flat. This was considered fact in its time and this one truth defined the perception of the Whole. Challenges to this truth were met with great resistance and great fear. There was much fear that such a perceived fact could not be the only truth. Thus, a paradigm shift was needed to shift the mass consciousness (the Truth of the Whole) to accommodate a new truth. However, this was not an easy process and many individuals were seriously chastised for challenging this "known fact".

As we look around, we see that our society reflects this level of need to rigidly hold onto truths (beliefs). If we look into our personal lives, we may see that we too have taken on this need. However, if we do not allow our beliefs to be challenged then we simply allow for the continuation of the status quo - stagnation. We don't allow ourselves to grow, both personally and globally. And it is growth that ultimately liberates us.

Fear of Difference

Our fear of other people's beliefs highlights our true feelings. For when we fear the beliefs of another, what we are really saying is that we feel that this other person's beliefs threatens our own. When we feel that others must believe in what we believe then this is a big neon sign saying that we are insecure about our own belief - that we need others to believe in what we believe it in order to give us validation of our beliefs!

Many of the judgments we have in our lives of others' beliefs come from an innate insecurity of our own beliefs. If others contradict what we insecurely believe within, then this will cause use fear and we react aggressively.

True balance, growth and wisdom comes from allowing for the beliefs of the whole. If we cannot accept even the most challenging belief then there is something profoundly unbalanced about our own belief. Remember, this doesn't mean that we have to take on everyone else's beliefs, it means that we must endeavour to accept others for believing in what they do. Each person's beliefs, truths, acts as a catalyst for the evolution of mass consciousness. This is because each person offers a different perception, a different observation, to offer a fuller picture of what is going on. That is how the Whole Truth evolves - that is how we evolve.

The Unknown

Spirituality, unlike institutional beliefs, accepts the unknown. Spirituality accepts that the unknown exists. Spirituality understands that we do not know everything, we do not have the answers to everything and part of our existence is accepting the unknown and allowing it to be a wonderful place of exploration. Traditional belief structures ranging from religion to science, which is in itself a belief structure, attempts to have all the answers and to claim knowledge of everything, including the unknown. However, history has proved through science that whenever all the answers are said to be known, another discovery completely shakes the very ground that those beliefs stand upon.

Rigidly held beliefs can only lead to limitation and stagnation in progress.

What is true for one person may not be true for another person but this does not deny any of the truths being expressed. This is another crucial point in spirituality because each person is evaluating existence through a set of filters - opinions, judgements, beliefs, feelings, thoughts, conditionings, and these all affect what each individual sees and experiences. Each person has a unique way of looking at the world and so each perspective is crucial for the Whole. Each individual that has ever lived, is living or will live will have a unique perspective on existence - and thus each individual is vital to the evolution (progress) of the Whole.

So...How do we know what is true for us? For us, the most important and valid truths are the ones we resonate with.

Whenever we read something, hear something or see something that we feel is right and makes sense to US - we allow that truth into ourselves. We bring that truth into our lives and either it challenges a belief we already have or we add it to an existing one. This is evolution of consciousness, for it shows growth. All growth comes from letting go of old truths and embracing new ones. When a child tries to place a circle, then a rectangle then finally a square into the square hole of his toy, he is learning through exploration. There is no mistake being made, instead it is a learning experience. Subsequently, the truths that you let go are not false in any way - for they served you until you reach a new truth.

If you feel that certain truths do not resonate with you, then let them go, that is your choice and your birthright. We often think that if we read a book and we agree with some things said in it, we're supposed to agree with it all - this is simply not true! You can decide what you agree with and what you disagree with.

Trust yourselves on this - you are far more capable, and intuitive than you realise of your inherent wisdom.

You may feel that none of this makes sense to you or that you do not agree with some or all of the things said on this website — remember that it is not for us to agree with everything said by one individual or a group of individuals. Life is about taking some information from here and some from there and allowing it into your life to evolve your own personal Truth.

Your Truth

This is the most important Truth of all. Your personal Truth is what only you can know and develop - and its development is akin to your growth. As you allow yourself to be challenged, you allow yourself to let go of truths that don't serve you any longer. As you embrace newer truths, note how they make you freer in the way you think, feel and look at the world around you. The truth that liberates you is a higher truth.

It is also our birthright to share our truths with others, as long as it doesn't infringe or stop them from having their own truth!

Only by sharing our truths with those around us can this world evolve - because each individual's perspective adds to the Whole to give a greater, fuller picture of what is really happening. As we share our truths, we meet and hear other people's truths which may or may not challenge us. Spirituality is about learning and growing so that we realise through this growth we achieve greater wisdom and happiness.

Truths are evolved by challenging the ones we already harbour and allowing them to shift and change to become more open. And this is what the ultimate truth is really about - to have the most open truth that allows for the Whole, allows for the acceptance of all other truths. This is the importance of each individual in terms of the Whole.

Remember, question everything. If it challenges you then ask why - is this other truth challenging an inner insecure belief , is it making you think more openly? is it allowing you to see more than you did before? Or is it something that makes you feel less, something that confines you further? If it simply doesn't feel right then let it go and find those that do.
